I a social work, or as we said here in Italy an Educator who works with disabled children in first and second level secondary school and I conduct experiential workshops on alternative methodologies based on education, theater and body expression (especially mimesis, through the graphic sign, music and dance ). unfortunately in the world of the school my role is seen as, pass me the term “caregiver” of the disabled, and recognized little also at the economic level. I want to change this situation, make it clear that alternative learning tools can be useful to all users. I dream of a school (but also other areas) in which personal peculiarities are valued, are a source of comparison, growth and mutual exchange. thanks to the availability of a teacher and the research group (education througt drama) that proposed it, I was able to explain Boccaccio’s 3rd novel using mimesis through the body and the graphic sign. I am also interested in the political value of theater as a promoter of change. for years in the Radio Ghetto project, during the initiatives of knowledge of the condition of exploitation of African laborers in the harvest of tomatoes, I conducted an oppressed theater game that allowed participants to identify themselves in the reality of caporalato.
